AAWC - October 2019
Functional Medicine and Ketogenic diet
It's amazing how intricate our biological system is. The impacts of stress, inflammation, infections, and blood sugar variances (to name just a few) have on our neurological and endocrinological systems is life shaping. We have so much story around will power, cravings, and self worth that it's easy to forget that how our brain and hormones are wired creates the landscape for our behavior. The Ketogenic diet is a great example of this - retraining our bodies to source energy from fat instead of carbs utterly changes our cravings by changing our brain and digestive hormones.
